About our cuivre
What is C110 copper used for?
Anywhere electricity, heat, or looks lead the spec. C110 is 99.9% pure electrolytic copper, the standard electrical grade. Bus bars and grounding straps come from flat bar, heat spreaders from sheet, and art, trim, and counter work follow the warm finish. It's also the traditional metal for stills and brew gear.
What shapes can you get cut?
Flat bar, round bar, sheet, square bar, and hex bar, all C110. As of June 2026, a 12″ piece of 1/8″ x 1″ flat bar runs $16.43 CAD, cut to ±1/8″ with no cutting fee. Copper tracks the metal market closely, so check the live page for today's price.
How does copper age?
Bright, then brown, then, after years outside, that green patina. Indoors it mostly settles at a warm brown. Want the shine to stay? Polish and lacquer. Want the aged look? Just wait, or look up patina solutions to hurry it along. Either way it never red-rusts, which is why roofers and artists keep choosing it.
Is copper hard to work with?
It's soft but gummy. It bends and forms beautifully, and it work-hardens as you go, so anneal it if a piece starts fighting back. On the lathe, use sharp tools and slow down; if the part is mostly machining, C360 brass will treat you better. Cutting, drilling, and soldering are all easy days.
