About A106 steel

A106 is high-temperature carbon steel pipe drawn with no weld seam, the grade for steam, boiler, and pressure lines where A53 isn't enough. With no seam running down it, there's nothing to come apart under heat and pressure. We stock it in the NPS sizing system in schedule 40 and 80 walls.

When do I need A106 instead of A53?
When the line sees high temperature or pressure, like steam and boiler service: A106 is the high-temp grade, drawn with no weld seam, built for it. For railings, structure, and low-pressure work, A53 does the job for less.
