Description

Carbon Steel Hex Bar 1026 Hot Rolled offers higher strength than 1018, good machinability, and reliable weldability, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Often used in hydraulic, machine building, and industrial fabrication projects, it is perfect for manufacturing hydraulic cylinders, shafts, and machined components. Its balance of strength and workability makes it well suited for moderate-stress mechanical applications.

About 1026 steel

1026 is a low-to-medium carbon steel you'll mostly meet as DOM mechanical tube on our rack, drawn over a mandrel for a clean, uniform wall and good concentricity. It's the tube for rollers, spacers, cylinders, and weldments that need a true, machinable wall. It welds well and machines better than hot-rolled tube.

What is DOM tube?
Drawn-over-mandrel: tube pulled over a mandrel after welding for a uniform wall, tight tolerance, and good concentricity. Our 1026 mechanical tube is built that way, which is why it machines and welds cleanly for rollers, bushings, and weldments.
