If it doesn't, the offcut rack at a local fab or welding shop often sells drops for less than any listed price. How do you buy smart at any metal counter?

Four habits save you money at every supplier on this page, ours included.

Call ahead and ask about offcuts. Fab and welding shops cut full bars all day, and many sell drops to anyone who asks politely. Ask for the bin before you ask for the rack.

Know your alloy before you go. "Aluminum" isn't a spec. Ask for 6061 bar or 5052 sheet by name, and treat unmarked drops as bracket metal, not as stock for anything you'll weld, bend hard, or load.

Bring dimensions in inches. Canadian metal counters and online configurators both run imperial, so a cut list in inches gets priced faster and cut right.
